Storm Drain Murals

In the Fall of 2021, the Committee for a Better Environment (CBE) partnered with the College Park Arts Exchange (CPAE) to spread environmental awareness about native Anacostia River animal and plant species which can be negatively impacted by what goes down the storm drains.

The art highlights what goes in our storm drains ends up in our nearby waterways (Indian Creek, Paint Branch, and the Northeast Branch of the Anacostia River) and can hurt plants and wildlife.

More storm drain murals are planned. For more information, or to see how you can get involved, call or email CBE staff liaison, Janet McCaslin 240-487-3593, jmccaslin@collegeparkmd.gov
