Meet the City's New Economic Development Manager: Bridgette Johnson!
Bridgette L. Johnson is the City's new Economic Development Manager. This is a new position from the City as it was upgraded from Coordinator to Manager for Fiscal Year 2021 and is within the City Manager's Office. Bridgette came to the City on August 10, 2020 and has already been working on various economic development projects throughout the City, including the COVID-19 business assistance programs and initiatives.
Bridgette is no stranger to the challenges of economic development for municipalities and governments. With a total of 17 years in economic development for local governments, Bridgette will bring an extensive knowledge to this position.
She previously was the President & CEO of Bridgeline Solutions, LLC where she served as an Economic Development Consultant to the City of Havre de Grace, Maryland. She also served as Senior Economic Development Associate for Harford County’s Office of Economic Development, the Manager of Economic Development for the City of Havre de Grace, Maryland and in the United States Army as an Equipment Records and Parts Specialist. Bridgette received her Masters of Community Planning from the University of Maryland and her Bachelor of Arts in Government & International Relations from the University of South Carolina.
The City of College Park is special to her as both she and her daughter graduated from the University of Maryland (go Terps!). Working for a college town brings its own set of challenges and opportunities, and she is looking forward to tackling them.
