Come out for a fun event with lots of local food, entertainment, kids activities and more as we celebrate all things Census! At the event you will learn more about the census, how to be counted and ask questions about it. We'll even have census workers helping people with their census form.

You're invited to Brunch with Bunny! Join us on Saturday, March 28 from 11am until 1pm at the College Park Community Center (5051 Pierce Ave). Children of all ages are invited to visit with the Bunny! The first 200 guests will enjoy free refreshments. Bring your camera to capture photos with the Bunny & Friends. Spring Egg Hunt

Youth & Family Services

It's the City of College Park's Annual Spring Egg Hunt! Join us on Saturday, April 4 from 10am to 12pm at the City's Youth and Family Services (4912 Nantucket Rd) for a spring-time fun egg hunt. There will be face painting, games, prizes, arts and crafts, meet the Bunny and more! This event is free and for all ages. Participate in the City’s 75th Anniversary Parade and Event!


The City’s 75th Anniversary celebration planning is underway! The event will feature a parade on Rhode Island Avenue followed by a festival at Duvall Field on June 6, 2020 beginning at 12pm. We are looking for College Park organizations to walk in the parade! Interested in having your group, club, school or organization participate? Please email events@collegeparkmd.gov with your organization/group’s name, brief description, and contact information.

Hollywood Gateway Park Ribbon Cutting


The finishing touches are being made to the site and pavilion and final inspections are expected to be completed in the coming weeks.

A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony is planned for April 22, which is Earth Day. Stay tuned to the City's website, social media and Weekly Bulletin for updates!

Good Neighbor Day


Good Neighbor Day 2020 volunteer registration is now open! This community-wide day of service will be held on Saturday, April 4 this year. You can register to volunteer at goodneighborday.umd.edu.

Spring Cleanup Saturdays

Department of Public Works Spring Cleanup Saturdays & Shredding Event April 4, 11, 18* and 25 | 7:30 a.m. to noon | Department of Public Works

The City's Department of Public Works facility will be open for City residents to drop-off bulky trash, white goods, electronics recycling, brush, and yard trim.

You must be a resident of the City of College Park and bring proof of City residency in order to participate, although anyone can buy compost or wood mulch during this event. Electronics that may be recycled include, but are not limited to: TVs, computers, monitors, keyboards, mice, speakers, VCRs, CD, DVD & MP3 players, cell phones & PDAs, printers, scanners, fax machines, telephones, radios, stereos, electric tools, game systems, handheld games, microwaves, and cords/cables. NEW THIS YEAR: During clean-up days, the folloiwng will be collected:

  • Household batteries for recycling. This includes rechargeable batteries such as Li-Ion, Ni-Cd, Ni-MH, Ni-Zn; Single-use alkaline batteries such as AA, AAA, 9V, C, D button cell, and lithium primary. No damaged batteries; no automotive batteries.
  • Fluorescent light bulbs and tubes – must be intact. Includes U-shaped or circular fluorescent lamps, High Intensity Discharge (HID) lamps, Ultra Violet (UV) lamps, Incandescent Bulbs, Halogen or Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL’s).
  • Block Styrofoam for recycling (coolers and large blocks of packing material). No packing peanuts, cups or plates. REDUCE…REUSE…RECYCLE!

NOT ACCEPTED: Bricks, concrete, rock, hazardous materials such as shingles, propane tanks, car batteries, paint, etc. Once again, we are working with Community Forklift and GreenDrop to divert items from the landfill that are still in good condition. Clean out your homes, garages, and sheds, and bring the items you no longer use or need and donate them for reuse. FREE Smartleaf® Compost: During the four clean-up day events, City residents may pick up 1 cubic yard of Smartleaf® screened compost for free. Limit 1 cubic yard per resident. You must bring proof of City of College Park residency to participate. We will load open bed trucks. If you don’t have a truck and want to get some compost, bring your own containers or bags as well as a shovel and be prepared to dig and get dirty. Wood mulch and SMARTLEAF® screened compost will also be available, you don’t need to be a resident in order to purchase. Wood mulch is $12.00 per cubic yard and Smartleaf® is $28.00 per cubic yard. (Prices include tax).

Shredding Event (April 18 Only)*

Onsite document shredding services will be available to City of College Park residents on Saturday, April 18, from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Bring your old tax records, medical paperwork, and any other confidential information to be shredded while you wait. All paper will be recycled. You must be a resident of the City of College Park and bring proof of residency to participate.
