MAY FEATURE PERFORMANCE BY LAUNDRY WORLD. CHECK OUT THE CITY'S SENIOR COMMITTEE'S LIVABLE COMMUNITY KICK-OFF, VISIT WITH COLLEGE PARK ARTS EXCHANGE, AND MORE! The City of College Park is hosting a series of concerts this summer and you are invited! Join us on the plaza at the new City Hall building on select Fridays for Friday Night LIVE! The events will feature a variety of musical genres and performers and will include something for everyone, music, food, beer, and entertainment. There will be children’s performers, activities and arts and crafts available for kids as well. All concerts will be held at City Hall Plaza (7401 Baltimore Avenue) between May to September from 6:30 to 8:30PM. Parking will be offered for free at the Downtown College Park parking garage at the corner of Yale and Knox. Local food and beer will be available for purchase during the event! Rabies & Microchip Clinic

The City's Animal Control and Animal Welfare Committee are hosting a Rabies and Microchip Clinic for City pets on May 15, 2022 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Appointments are required - slots are individual, you can only register one animal per spot. Appointments are in 10 minute slots, and space is limited. All animals must be leashed or properly confined to a carrier. No walk-ins. Register here: https://may2022rabiesclinic.eventbrite.com. City residents must be able to provide proof of residence to obtain free services. Services will be discounted for non-residents as follows (exact cash only):
- Rabies vaccine, $10.00 For 1 year or 3-year Rabies vaccines, the pet owner must have a current signed rabies certificate (1- or 3-year), and vaccines will be given at the discretion of the veterinarian.
- Microchipping, $20.00
Please come no earlier than 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. Please remain in the vehicle with your pets, and wait to be called for your appointment.
Bike to Work Day

Bike to Work Day is an annual event held throughout the DC Metropolitan area to promote alternative commutes, environmental health, and bike safety in the community. Each year, the City’s pit stop attracts over 150 riders.
This year’s event will be held on the morning of Friday, May 20, 2022.
Bikers can join us at our new City Hall Plaza for a free t-shirt and refreshments before biking to work. To register for the event, please visit https://www.biketoworkmetrodc.org/register.
Memorial Day Observance

The City of College Park will hold its annual 2022 Memorial Day observance, Monday, May 30 at 11:00 a.m. at the College Park Veterans Memorial at the intersection of Rt. 1 and Greenbelt Rd. The program will include music, speakers, and wreath laying in fitting tribute to the men and women who have served our country. Please bring pictures of your loved ones, veterans alive or passed to share on our Honors Table.
Parking is available near Bowlero at 9021 Baltimore Ave. This event is sponsored by the City's Veterans Memorial Committee.

Spring Cleanup Saturdays
May 21, 2022 from 7:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Department of Public Works, 9217 51st Avenue, College Park
The City of College Park Public Works facility will be open for City residents to drop off bulky trash, white goods, electronics recycling, brush, and yard trim. You must be a resident of the City of College Park and bring proof of City residency to participate.
Electronics that may be recycled include, but are not limited to: TVs, computers, monitors, keyboards, mice, speakers, VCRs, CD, DVD & MP3 players, cell phones & PDAs, printers, scanners, fax machines, telephones, radios, stereos, electric tools, game systems, handheld games, microwaves, and cords/cables.
NOT ACCEPTED: Brick, concrete, rock, hazardous materials such as shingles, propane tanks, etc.
Accepted Items:
- Household batteries for recycling. This includes rechargeable batteries such as Li-Ion, Ni-Cd, Ni-MH, Ni-Zn; Single-use alkaline batteries such as AA, AAA, 9V, C, D, button cell, and lithium primary. No damaged batteries or automotive batteries can be accepted. Limit 12 batteries.
- Fluorescent light bulbs and tubes – must be intact. Includes LED lamps, U-shaped or circular fluorescent lamps, High Intensity Discharge (HID) lamps, Ultraviolet (UV) lamps, Incandescent Bulbs, Halogen or Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL’s). Limit 2 tubes, and 4 bulbs.
- Block Styrofoam for recycling (coolers and large blocks of packing material). No packing peanuts, cups or plates.
Wood Mulch Wood mulch will also be available, City residency is not required in order to purchase. Wood mulch is $12.00 per cubic yard (Price include tax). We will load open bed trucks. If you don’t have a truck and want to get material, bring your own containers or bags as well as a shovel and be prepared to dig and get dirty.
Fourth of July Parade
Parade Info: Monday, July 4, 2022, 11:00 a.m.; Rhode Island Avenue ending at Duvall Field. Entries must be received by 4 p.m., Friday, June 24, 2022. Apply here. We're having a parade and we need you! We are looking for marching bands, military units, classic/custom vehicles, dogs/animals, equestrian groups, majorettes, fire/police vehicles, cheerleading squads, groups, performers, motorized floats, clown/humorist entries, girl and boy scouts, and many others.
