ORDINANCE 20-O-07
The Mayor And Council of the City of College Park will hold a Public Hearing on Ordinance 20-O-07 an Ordinance of the Mayor and Council of the City of College Park to Adopt the Fiscal Year 2021 General Fund, Capital Projects Fund and Debt Service Fund Budgets of the City of College Park.

This Public Hearing will be held virtually on May 12, 2020. To obtain the meeting link or phone number to join the meeting, please visit the Mayor and Council Meeting page at www.collegeparkmd.gov/councilmeetings. All interested parties will have the opportunity to be heard. Please note, participants will be muted during the meeting except during public comment.
If you are unable to participate in the meeting, you may submit written comment prior to the Public Hearing. In order to be received by the Council as part of the record, the comment must include the specific topic to which it relates and the full name and address of the person submitting the comment. Written comment should be submitted no later than 5:00 p.m. on the day of the hearing to cpmc@collegeparkmd.gov.

CITY OF COLLEGE PARK NOTICE OF A PROPOSED REAL PROPERTY TAX INCREASE
The City of College Park proposes to increase real property taxes. 1. For the tax year beginning July 1, 2020, the estimated real property assessable base will increase by 3.25%, from $2,961,583,141 to $3,057,731,334. 2. If the City of College Park maintains the current tax rate of $0.325 per $100 of assessment, real property tax revenues will increase by 3.25% resulting in $312,482 of new real property tax revenues. 3. In order to fully offset the effect of increasing assessments, the real property tax rate should be reduced to $0.3148, the constant yield tax rate. 4. The City of College Park is considering not reducing its real property tax rate enough to fully offset increasing assessments. The City proposes to adopt a real property tax rate of $0.325 per $100 of assessment. This tax rate is 3.25% higher than the constant yield tax rate and will generate $312,482 in additional property tax revenues. A public hearing on the proposed real property tax rate increase will be held at 7:30 p.m., on May 12, 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and following the order of Maryland Gov. Participants who join the virtual meeting will be enabled to speak by the meeting chair during the public comment portion of the meeting. Speakers are given three (3) minutes for public comment.

Written comment should include the agenda item to which it pertains, the full name of the person submitting the comment, and whether they are a City resident. In order to be received as part of the record, the written comment must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on May 12, 2020.

Notice of Outcome/Fair Summary
ORDINANCE 20-O-04
On April 14, 2020 the Mayor and Council held a public hearing on Ordinance 20-O-04, an Ordinance to authorize the purchase of a parcel of land for a public purpose and the related sale of a parcel of land as it is no longer needed for a City public purpose.
This ordinance will authorize the City to exchange 1,800 square feet of property which it owns, and which is adjacent to 5004 Navahoe Street, College Park, Maryland, 20740 to the owners of 5004 Navahoe Street. In exchange, the property owner will transfer 233 square feet of property to the City, which the City will use to expand the James Adams Park. This is considered a like-kind exchange.
This Ordinance was introduced on March 10, 2020 and a Public Hearing was held on April 14, 2020. The Ordinance was then adopted on April 14, 2020 and will become effective on May 5, 2020.
