College Park Blues Festival

Saturday, November 9, 2019 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Ritchie Coliseum

Get your dancing shoes on, because the 12th annual College Park Blues Festival is Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at Ritchie Coliseum (7675 Baltimore Ave).

There will be awesome blues bands, plenty of dancing, craft beer and vendors. This year's lineup includes Jose Ramirez Band and J.P. Reali, Patty Reese Band with Dave Chappell, and King Solomon Hicks aka "Lil B.B." from New York.

This event is sponsored by the City's Recreation Board.

Veterans Day Observance

Monday, November 11, 2019 11:00 a.m. College Park Veterans Memorial (corner of Greenbelt Road and Baltimore Ave)

The public is invited to join the College Park Mayor and Council at the 2019 observance of Veterans Day. The program will include music, speakers, and wreath laying in fitting tribute to the men and women who have served our country.

Please bring pictures of veterans (both alive or passed) with a little bio sheet about them including name, rank, military branch, date of birth, date of passing (if applicable), location(s) served and any other pertinent information. The Veterans Committee is working a history of our local veterans.

Parking is available at Bowlero.

Free Rabies & Microchip Clinic

Sunday, November 17, 2019 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Davis Hall

The City's Animal Control and Animal Welfare Committee are having a free rabies and microchip clinic for City pets! Come on Sunday, November 17 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Davis Hall to have your pets vaccinated against rabies and microchipped (to help return lost pets to their families).

City residents must be able to provide proof of residence in order to obtain free services.

Services will be discounted for non-residents as follows (exact cash only):

  • Rabies vaccine, $10.00
  • Microchipping, $20.00

All animals must be leashed or properly confined to a carrier. For 3-year Rabies vaccines, the pet owner must have a current signed rabies certificate (1- or 3-year), and vaccines will be given at the discretion of the veterinarian.

Save the Date: City Tribute to Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Saturday, January 11, 2020 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. Dance Theatre in The Clarice at the University of Maryland

Inspiration and Entertainment for all Ages - this free event will honor the legacy of Dr. King.

This year's theme: "Is His Dream, your Dream Too?" will be explored through performances, panel discussion and an audience Q&A segment.

Farmers Markets

Hollywood Farmers Market Saturdays 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Fresh produce, wonderful crafts, local vendors, great food!

Come to the Hollywood Farmers Market in the Hollywood Shopping Center (near MOM's) every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Season ends in November.
