Good Neighbor Day

The Good Neighbor Day 10-year anniversary will take place on Saturday, November 13, 2021! Good Neighbor Day is a community-wide day of service in Greater College Park. The collaborative partnership is hosted by the University of Maryland, The City of College Park, and the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission.

The 10-year anniversary event will offer 14 in-person beautification service projects, 6 virtual workshops designed to support and engage our neighbors, and multiple ways to get involved in the food drive. The registration deadline for in-person projects is Wednesday, November 10. Good Neighbor Day Food Drive: Good Neighbor Day is collecting clear, canned, and boxed non-perishable food and drink items to benefit the College Park Community Food Bank and the UMD Campus Pantry. • Bring items to the Fill-a-Bus Food Drive on November 12 from 11am - 4pm outside of Stamp Student Union on the UMD campus • Drive-up Food Donation Drop-Off at IKEA in College Park on November 13 from 10am - 2pm

Veterans Day

Thursday, November 11, 2021

Thursday, November 11 is Veterans Day. On Veterans Day, we thank and honor all those who have served in the United States Armed Forces during peace and wartime.

This year in lieu of an in-person gathering to commemorate the holiday, the City will post signs around College Park. We encourage our residents to fly the American flag and to take your photo or a selfie with the Veterans Day Signs and tag them with yours or our social media accounts (Facebook & Instagram: @collegeparkmd, Twitter: @collegepark_md). We may even share your photos on the City’s website and social media!
