Interested in volunteering on a City Advisory Board? Please complete and submit an application to jsmiller@collegeparkmd.gov or to your City Council representative by Monday, June 7, 2021. For additional information regarding vacancies, please contact the City Clerk’s office at Cityclerkoffice@collegeparkmd.gov or your City Council representative. The following advisory boards have vacancies: • Advisory Planning Commission – Volunteers from Districts 2 and 3 • Airport Authority – Volunteer from District 3 • Animal Welfare Committee – Volunteers from Districts 1, 2 and 4 • Committee for a Better Environment – Volunteers from any District • Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Tribute Committee – Volunteers from any District • Noise Control Board – Volunteers from Districts 2 and 3 • Recreation Board – Volunteers from any District • College Park Seniors Committee - Volunteers from any District • Veterans Memorial Committee – Volunteers from any District

Announcements:

City Statement on City Manager Position

On May 4, 2021, the City of College Park announced the hiring of Natasha S. Hampton as the new City Manager. After much reflection, the Mayor and City Council and Ms. Hampton announced today an end to their employment relationship.

The City’s Mayor and Council will immediately re-open the search process to select a new City Manager. The City expects to fill the position by the end of the summer. Until the position is filled, Bill Gardiner will continue to serve as the Interim City Manager.

Chesapeake Bay Awareness Month

The City of College Park proclaimed June as Chesapeake Bay Awareness Month. The City urges its residents to recognize, protect and enjoy this valuable resource.

Department of Public Works: Special Recognition

The City held a barbecue at the Department of Public Works honoring our essential employees who have worked tirelessly throughout Covid-19 shutdowns to maintain services to College Park residents. All employees were provided lunch and dessert. Several awards were presented including: Directors Performance Award Ray G.
