Holiday Closures
All City facilities will be closed on Monday, January 16th in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. All collections will slide forward one day this week, and special collections will only be scheduled on Friday.

FY2024 Budget Feedback Form
Preparation is beginning on the FY2024 Proposed Budget, which will be published in March 2023. The Mayor & Council invite residents to submit suggestions, requests and/or recommendations that will assist the City in fulfilling its mission – to provide excellent services, transparent and inclusive governance, and advocate for our residents to enhance the quality of life for our diverse community.
Please complete this form by January 31, 2023.
FY2023 Community Services Grant
The Community Service Grants provide partial funding for community-based programs and projects within the City of College Park. The City of College Park believes that supporting community activities enhances the community as a whole. The City will provide grants for programs and activities that promote enhanced community opportunities for its residents. Community Services Grants are only awarded to organizations, not to individuals.
Please complete this form by January 27, 2023.
Community Survey
The City is partnering with the ETC Institute to conduct a comprehensive community survey. This upcoming City of College Park Community Survey will measure residents’ attitudes and opinions on City services like refuse and recycling collection, City facilities and parks, City events, and economic development.
If you have received your paper survey in the mail, please complete and submit that form.
If you did not receive a paper survey in the mail, we still want to hear from you! Please complete the survey online here before January 6.

Advisory Board Volunteers Wanted
Are you interested in serving on a City Advisory Board?
Serve your community, lend your talents, and meet your neighbors by applying to serve on a City Advisory Board:
· Bee City USA Committee · Tree and Landscape Board
If you are interested in volunteering, please complete and submit an application (Spanish application) to jsmiller@collegeparkmd.gov or to your City Council representative by Friday, January 20, 2023. The next round of appointments will be in January 2023 for three-year terms.
Bee City USA Committee Individuals interested in serving on the Bee City USA Committee should have interest in enhancing community awareness of urban pollinators in the City of College Park. The Committee will follow the guidelines established by Bee City USA to maintain the City’s affiliation with this organization. The Committee will:
- Celebrate National Pollinator Week in June, by holding educational events or installing or restoring pollinator habitats.
- Develop material about pollinator preservation for the City website.
- Create reports of pollinator-friendly activities and accomplishments, native plant species list and recommended suppliers, and development of an integrated pest management plan.
- Install and maintain at least one authorized Bee City USA street sign in a prominent location
- Develop and implement a pollinator-friendly habitat program and recommend improvements to City policies and practices as they relate to pollinator conservation.
- Renew Bee City USA certification annually by providing a report of the previous year’s activities and accomplishments.
- Create an annual work plan and submit a yearend report of activities and accomplishments to the Mayor and Council.
Tree and Landscape Board
Individuals interested in serving on the Tree and Landscape Board should have interest and knowledge of trees, landscaping and gardening, and the benefits they provide to urban infrastructure, as well as local ecological and environmental benefits provided to an urban community.

- Yard Waste Carts - $30 for City residents
- Backyard Compost Bins - $20 for City residents and $40 for non-residents
- GAT Mosquito Traps - SOLD OUT
- Smartleaf Compost and Wood Mulch are available year-round as supplies last. Purchase and pick up material at the Department of Public Works (9217 51st Avenue, College Park) Monday-Friday 8:00 – 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Deliveries are over for the season, but check back in March.
Material can be loaded into open-bed pickup trucks or trailers. Don't have a truck? Bring a shovel and your own containers (bins, buckets, bags, etc.), and be prepared to load your containers yourself. We sell in 1/4 cubic yard increments.
