Pet Tip of the Month

Trap, Neuter & Return Saves Lives Trap, Neuter & Return, the humane approach to addressing community cat populations, works. It improves the lives of the cats, addresses resident concerns, reduces complaints about the cats and stops the breeding process. It improves the relationship between humans and outdoor cats in their shared environment.

Trap, Neuter & Return is a program where feral cats are trapped, sterilized, vaccinated, ear-tipped (this shows that the animal has been sterilized) and returned to the area where they live. These areas are often called colonies. Volunteers tend to the needs of the cats. Over time, the cat population in these colonies declines due to the absence of their reproducing. Trap, Neuter & Return is effective!

Committee for a Better Environment Tip of the Month

Our state is home to at least 400 species of native bees that are essential to plant reproduction and food production. You can do your part to support pollinators by planting native plants and flowers of different shapes, sizes, and colors. To keep pollinators alive and healthy, refrain from using herbicides and pesticides on your lawn and garden.
