COLLEGE PARK IS A BEE CITY!

The city of College Park supports its local pollinator populations by planting and maintaining pollinator friendly gardens and placing bee hotels throughout the city. Here is a list pollinator gardens and bee hotels throughout the city that all residents can enjoy!:

• • • Old Town Community Garden and Bee Hotel - The Old Town garden is located near the corner of Norwich Road and Columbia Avenue, just north of the Old Town Playground. For more information about this garden, check out this link: https://www.collegeparkmd.gov/citygardens
    • Cherokee Pollinator Garden - Located at 49th Avenue and Cherokee Street, this garden is maintained by the City’s Bee City USA committee. It hosts numerous pollinator friendly plants and a new bee hotel.
    • Half Moon Garden - This garden is located at Lackawanna Street and 53rd Avenue. This little garden supports pollinators with its beautiful purple cone flowers.
    • The American Legion Pollinator Garden and Bee Hotel - The American Legion Post 217 has a wonderful pollinator garden and bee hotel in the Autoville neighborhood of College Park.
    • College Park City Hall Pollinator Garden and Bee Hotel - The City Hall hosts a lovely Pollinator Garden and Bee Hotel along Knox Road and Yale Avenue.
    • Rhode Island and Calvert Road Pollinator Garden and Bee Hotel - The Calvert Hills neighborhood has a pollinator garden along the Trolley Trail at the intersection of Rhode Island and Calvert Road.
    • Davis Hall Bee Hotel - Davis Hall also has a bee hotel and pretty gardens off of 51st Avenue in the Hollywood neighborhood.
    • Duvall Field Pollinator Garden and Bee Hotel - Duval Field features an attractive pollinator garden and a bee hotel, located off of Rhode Island Avenue next to the new concession and restroom building. It will be reopened this summer to residents following renovations.
    • James Adams Park - This scenic park is located along the Trolley Trail and Navahoe Street in the Lakeland neighborhood.
    • Muskogee Park and Bee Hotel - The Muskogee Park in the Hollywood neighborhood hosts a bee hotel and several pollinator friendly plants.
    • College Park Permaculture Garden and Bee Hotel - This edible garden is located along the Trolley Trail in the Berwyn neighborhood between Greenbelt Road and Tecumseh Street. The garden is maintained by the City’s Committee for a Better Environment.
    • Hollywood Gateway Park - This park is located at the Southeast corner of Baltimore Avenue and Edgewood Road. The park boasts a bee hotel and various pollinator friendly plants.
    • Kenesaw Food Forest - This garden was newly added in October 2024 and recently expanded in 2025. It features plants that provide a range of food and habitat benefits for the local pollinators.
