The Mayor and Council of the City of College Park will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. to take public comment and possible action on the recommendations for roadway design improvements in the 7200 block Rhode Island Avenue. All interested parties shall have an opportunity to be heard. After the Public Hearing, the Mayor and Council may take action on the request.

Following a request by the City Council, the City Engineer’s office conducted a traffic study along the 7200 block of Rhode Island Avenue between Calvert Road and Guilford Road. A Public Hearing was held on September 5, 2023. The council referred the matter to the Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee and City Engineer and returned to a public meeting with their recommendations. Mayor and Council meetings are “hybrid”, meaning you can participate either in-person at City Hall, or virtually over Zoom.

Charter Resolution 24-CR-01 was introduced on February 13, 2024, and a Public Hearing was held on March 5, 2024. The Charter Resolution was then adopted on March 5, 2024 and will become effective April 24, 2024 unless petitioned to referendum in accordance with §4-304 of the Local Government Article, Annotated Code of Maryland by April 14, 2024.
